Thread is an integral part of your sewing project. For piecing or garment sewing the thread may not be visible. But for quilting, embroidery and other sewing forms, the thread is one of the main components. Here we feature projects where the thread is a critical part of the design.
Whole Cloth in Hoop
This wall hanging was made using 29 colors of Omni Thread by Superior Threads. The wholecloth design is by Karlee Porter, and it is stitched on Kona Cotton white. I mounted the quilt in a vintage hoop that I found at The Hunt in New Milford, CT.

Edge to Edge Longarm Quilting
This image really shows the power of thread and quilting to enhance a project. This was a customer quilt that we quilted with Omni V (v for variegated) 9045 - Red Hot. The reds and oranges of the thread accentuate the piecing, and the design adds visual interest and depth to the quilt top. Omni V is 40 weight variegated thread that is designed to withstand the high speed of longarm quilting machines and is one of our go-to threads in our studio.
The edge-to-edge quilting design is Circle Drama from Wasatch Quilting.
